Freedom of Mobility

In 1969, Supreme Court Justice Stewart wrote, regarding the right to travel, "...it is a virtually unconditional personal right, guaranteed by the Constitution to us all." When I think about my freedom, how much I have, how far I can go, what I can do, I'm humbled. And never do I feel that more than when I'm riding. When I ride, my only limitation is my stamina. I can go as far as I can go. It's such a beautiful truth.

Every time I hop on my bike, there's this tingling excitement of possibility. It feels like a road trip when everyone else in the car is asleep; like hopping a freight train and looking at the world from the inside out; like getting lost in the woods; like flying in a helicopter with the doors off; like scuba diving and looking back up at the surface; like the moment during takeoff when the back wheels lift off the ground; like drinking water from a spring; like standing up on water skis.

Here's three good riding videos.
