Roly Poly, an astronaut's tail

Roly Poly is an amazing project of the Design Incubation Center at the University of Singapore. You've got these two egg-shaped objects and when you push on one, the other, no matter how far away you are, rolls over instantly as if it were also tapped.

These little guys are amazing, but also kind of heartbreaking. All I can think of are astronauts (or taikonauts now), woken from cryostasis, watching a time-delayed video of their family telling them how much they miss them back on earth...and that guy in the American Airlines commercial.

I'm convinced this idea was formed after watching Fievel and Tanya Mousekewitz' haunting duet Somewhere Out There:
Tanya: And even though I know how very far apart we are, it helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star.

Fievel: And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullabye it helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky.

Together: Somewhere out there, if love can see us through, then we'll be together somewhere out there out where dreams come true.
